CABHI Launches Fuel Program to Support Brain Health Innovation
TORONTO – March 12, 2025 – In recognition of Brain Awareness Week and Brain Health Awareness Month, the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), powered by Baycrest, announced the launch of its new Fuel program on March 12, 2025. This initiative aims to mobilize healthtech, biotech, and fintech solutions to address the increasing demand for brain health innovations.
Fuel will provide up to $500,000 CAD in funding and acceleration services to Canadian researchers and start-up companies. The program is designed to help these innovators achieve critical research, development, and validation milestones, ultimately bringing their brain health solutions to those who need them most.
Canadian researchers and companies often face challenges in accessing capital and value-added services to support their work. These barriers can hinder research and development, product and service refinement, critical validation processes, and pilot trials. CABHI’s Fuel program is designed to overcome these hurdles, fostering the growth of novel ideas that address the complex problems faced by older individuals.
The program will provide up to $500,000 CAD to support:
- Research & development
- Product testing
- Validation activities
In addition to funding, successful applicants will gain access to CABHI’s Acceleration Services. These services include learning and networking opportunities through the Ignite Learning Series, which will feature subject matter experts from various industries.
