The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) is excited to invite you to the 2024 Tech Prom, a key event for leaders and innovators in the tech policy arena.
This year’s event will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. The evening promises an engaging experience with networking opportunities and discussions on the evolving landscape of technology policy.
CDT is dedicated to advancing civil rights and civil liberties in the digital age, championing policies and technologies that empower people while protecting against misuse. Since its founding in Washington, D.C. in 1994, and with a Brussels office established in 2014, CDT has been at the forefront of these crucial conversations.
The Tech Prom brings together over 1,000 individuals from government, industry, and civil society to address critical issues in the tech policy world. This year, CDT is again incorporating the voices of artists into the conversation, building on the success of last year’s event.
The second-annual Tech Prom Artist Exhibition will showcase the work of talented creatives exploring the impact of data and algorithmic systems.
Featured artists include:
-
Sophia Brueckner: A futurist artist, designer, and engineer whose “romance series” examines the influence of technology on our lives, including pieces from her Captured by an Algorithm and Unrequited United series.
-
Creative Theory Agency (CTA): This Black-owned creative agency will present ‘Ad Intelligence: New Age Advertising,’ a reflection on advertising’s role in society, as part of their ‘WHAT PROMPT YOU?’ campaign.
-
Curry Hackett: An award-winning transdisciplinary designer and public artist, Hackett will exhibit “In the Woods, We See Things,” a large-scale AI-generated collage inspired by hush harbors.
