Cisco and ServiceNow Strengthen Partnership to Secure Enterprise AI Adoption

Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) and ServiceNow have announced an expanded partnership aimed at helping businesses adopt AI securely and efficiently. The collaboration will integrate Cisco’s AI Defense capabilities with ServiceNow’s Security Operations (SecOps) to provide comprehensive AI risk management and governance.

    Comprehensive AI Security Framework

The partnership addresses new security challenges posed by enterprise AI adoption through integrated platforms spanning infrastructure and workflows. Key features of the integration include:

    • AI workload and model discovery
    • Automated vulnerability assessments
    • Real-time protection for AI applications
    • Enhanced security operations center investigations
    • AI organizational compliance mapping

Initial field trials are commencing soon, with the integration expected to be available to mutual customers in the second half of 2025. This collaboration builds upon their seven-year partnership history, with additional integrations planned for later in 2025.

    Addressing AI Security Challenges

The rapid proliferation of enterprise AI brings both opportunities and new risks that traditional cybersecurity solutions don’t adequately address. As AI applications reshape business practices, underlying infrastructure, security frameworks, team workflows, and governance requirements must evolve accordingly. The partnership between Cisco and ServiceNow aims to provide platform-based approaches to not only solve the challenges presented by AI but empower businesses to move forward confidently.

“Security has been blamed for slowing technology adoption in the past, but the right approach to safety and security will actually accelerate AI adoption,” said Jeetu Patel, EVP and Chief Product Officer at Cisco. The integration of ServiceNow and Cisco AI Defense is described as game-changing for enterprises, providing a single source of truth for managing AI risks and compliance.

    Key Benefits of the Integration

    1. Visibility: Cisco AI Defense will discover AI workloads, models, and data mapped to applications and services in the ServiceNow platform.
    2. Vulnerability Management: Automated vulnerability assessments will surface in ServiceNow Vulnerability Response for monitoring, triaging, and addressing.
    3. Real-time Protection: Cisco AI Runtime Protection offers real-time guardrails for AI applications, with ServiceNow Security Posture Control identifying gaps in coverage.
    4. Incident Response: Telemetry from AI applications will be delivered to ServiceNow Security Incident Response to enhance security operations center investigations.
    5. Governance: Customers will be able to map Cisco AI Defense controls to relevant standards in ServiceNow’s Integrated Risk Management platform.

The partnership between Cisco and ServiceNow represents a strategic positioning in the rapidly evolving AI security marketplace, addressing significant governance and security challenges enterprises face during AI adoption.
