Crypto Exchanges Experience Disruptions Due to AWS Data Center Issue
Crypto exchange Binance temporarily halted user withdrawals on Tuesday due to a problem involving an Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center. The suspension lasted approximately 23 minutes, according to a Binance spokesperson.

Binance posted on X that withdrawals were suspended “to keep safe” before resuming them about ten minutes later. AWS’s service dashboard indicated a “connectivity issue” affecting its Tokyo cloud region at 1:15 a.m. PDT (08:15 GMT), which was resolved by 1:51 a.m. PDT (08:51 GMT). An AWS spokesperson confirmed that the issue had been resolved and the service was operating normally.
Other crypto exchanges also reported experiencing technical difficulties. KuCoin stated it was dealing with “temporary disruptions” due to the AWS outage affecting the Tokyo data center. “Some services have already been restored, and our team is working closely with AWS to recover full functionality as quickly as possible,” a KuCoin spokesperson said via email. MEXC reported issues including “abnormal candlestick charts,” “failed order cancellations,” and “delays in asset transfers for spot trading” due to the AWS disruption. All affected exchanges assured users that their assets remained secure.
