Databricks Revolutionizes Business Intelligence with AI-Powered Tool
Databricks Inc. has launched Databricks One, an artificial intelligence-powered business intelligence tool designed to bring data insights to every business worker. This new platform simplifies the company’s existing cloud-based data warehouse, making it accessible to non-technical users.

Previously, Databricks’ platform was primarily used by engineers and data scientists with Python and SQL skills. Databricks One changes this by introducing a user-friendly interface similar to ChatGPT, allowing users to describe their desired data analysis in natural language. A large language model then performs the necessary technical work, generates the required SQL code, and executes it on the customer’s data warehouse.
Key Features of Databricks One
- Natural language interface for data analysis requests
- Automatic generation and execution of SQL code
- Visualization of analysis results
- “AI/BI Genie” for deeper analysis through natural language queries
The platform is designed to be secure, with features such as data sandboxing and read-only access restrictions. Databricks spent over two years developing these security measures to address customer concerns about data protection and potential misinterpretation of results.
Databricks One is currently available in private preview and will enter a private beta later in the summer. The company plans to implement a metered pricing model based on token consumption by AI models and usage time.
This launch is part of Databricks’ broader AI strategy, which also includes the introduction of Mosaic Agent Bricks, an agentic AI platform, and Lakebase, a serverless database capable of processing over 10,000 queries per second. With over $14 billion in venture capital backing and a valuation of $62 billion as of December 2024, Databricks is positioning itself as a key player in the AI data infrastructure market.
