Decatur-Based Utility Inc. Named to GovTech 100 List
Decatur, GA – February 3, 2025 – Utility Inc., a Decatur-based company specializing in public safety technology, has been included in Government Technology’s GovTech 100 list. This annual compilation recognizes companies that significantly impact the public arena.
Utility and its affiliate companies develop various technological tools used by law enforcement, including police body cameras, automatic license plate recognition systems, and records management solutions.

In early 2024, Utility announced an annual revenue of $60 million, marking a 38 percent increase over the previous year. Although year-end figures for 2024 have not yet been released, the company reported increased engagement with a wider array of law enforcement agencies, including hospitals, universities, public schools, and airport security agencies, which significantly contributed to the company’s strong performance alongside its ongoing investment in new product offerings and global expansion efforts.
Utility’s year-over-year performance showed a 42 percent increase in recurring revenue, a 58 percent increase in gross margins, a 178 percent increase in operating income, and a 31 percent rise in staff.
