Dell Technologies Inc. (DELL) is experiencing a significant increase in its order backlog, primarily due to major deals in the artificial intelligence sector.
Dell’s backlog for AI servers concluded its fiscal year at $4.1 billion. However, the company’s current backlog has surged to $9 billion, and anticipates shipping $15 billion in AI servers this year.
A key factor driving this growth is a deal with xAI, the artificial-intelligence company founded by Elon Musk, alongside other prominent AI sector participants.
Dell believes that its expansion beyond large cloud providers with its AI-server business is the major driver of this success.
