Derivco, a Durban-based iGaming software developer, has announced a change in leadership. Quraish Behari is stepping down after two decades with the company, including seven years as CEO. His departure, effective Friday, is to pursue a new venture within the iGaming sector.
According to a statement released on Friday, Andrew Slabbert will take over the CEO role. The company noted that Slabbert has worked alongside Behari for 16 years and brings considerable experience and in-depth knowledge of Derivco and its clients. Derivco believes his leadership will ensure continuity in the company’s dedication to offering superior technology solutions and promoting customer partnerships.
Under Slabbert’s leadership, Derivco aims to “reinforce its focus on its core platforms and customer partnerships.” The company intends to maintain seamless service delivery and continued technological advancements. Derivco also plans to refine operational priorities, strengthening its foundation for the future, with a renewed emphasis on optimizing technology, services, and strategic collaborations.
Established in 1996 and headquartered in Durban, Derivco is the city’s largest technology company, with offices globally, including locations in the UK, Australia, Spain, Sweden, and the US. Slabbert’s appointment follows a news report last August, which indicated that Derivco was restructuring globally, resulting in hundreds of staff retrenchments.
