Simplyhealth Extends Go Digital Campaign
Simplyhealth has prolonged its Go Digital campaign to June 30, 2025. The company has committed a £250,000 charitable donation to the Woodland Trust as an incentive for customers to transition to paperless options. The campaign, which began in September 2024, encourages Simplyhealth and Denplan customers to adopt digital solutions. Every email address registered during the campaign will result in a donation to the Woodland Trust, supporting its Free School and Community Tree packs. During its first four months, the campaign saw 43,545 customers register their email addresses, resulting in a total donation of £75,101.
CharmHealth Launches CharmHealthHub
CharmHealth has introduced CharmHealthHub, a marketplace designed for the entire healthcare community. This new hub replaces the company’s previous marketplace, CharmHealthApps, and aims to unite partners to improve care standards through technology.
Digital Health Competencies Framework Published
International experts from 79 countries have collaborated to publish a new framework for the integration of digital health curricula into medical education. The Digital Health Competencies in Medical Education (DECODE) framework, published in JAMA Network Open, is designed to educate and prepare future doctors for the ongoing digital health transformation. The framework outlines the essential skills and knowledge required for medical graduates and includes contributions from experts at Imperial College London, King’s College London, Nonyang Technological University, and NTU Singapore.
Eureka Eurostars Grant Awarded for AI-Enabled Predictive Solution
Amie Technologies and Blüm Health have been granted a Eureka Eurostars grant to develop Pal-PCS, an AI-enabled predictive solution. This solution aims to detect and prevent complications in patients with life-limiting illnesses. It leverages patient- and family-reported outcomes alongside leading treatment guidelines to generate real-time risk assessments, thereby enhancing at-home supportive care.
MHRA Publishes Guidance on Digital Mental Health Technologies
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) released new guidance on February 3 regarding digital mental health technologies to assist manufacturers and protect users. This guidance clarifies the definition and communication of the intended purpose of such technologies, when these technologies qualify as medical devices under UK law, and how risk classification is determined.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Shares Virtual Royal Infirmary Evaluation
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has shared an evaluation of its virtual royal infirmary (VRI) program. The evaluation demonstrated the impact of their “hospital-level care delivered directly to patients’ homes.” Since its launch in June 2023, the Virtual Ward (Hospital at Home) service has provided hospital-level care at home, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and facilitating early discharge.
