Elon Musk Endorses Grok AI Chatbot, Positioning it as Google’s Rival
Elon Musk has endorsed his AI chatbot, Grok, positioning it as a potential competitor to Google Search. Musk’s move comes amid growing competition between Grok 3, the latest iteration of the chatbot developed by xAI, and Google’s AI-driven services, particularly in the fields of language models and search capabilities.

On Sunday, Musk, the CEO of X and founder of xAI, used his signature endorsement style on X by sharing a post that read, “Don’t Google it, Just Grok it,” and responding with a simple “Yes.”
Grok 3, which runs on xAI’s Colossus supercomputer and reportedly has ten times the computational power of its predecessor, is being positioned as a direct competitor to Google’s models, including Gemini. Musk has repeatedly stated that Grok could “replace Google Search,” underscoring his ambition to challenge Google’s dominance in the search market.
In a post from an X-affiliated account, a bold claim was made: “Grok 3 will replace Google Search. People aren’t going to Google to search anymore. They are using apps like Grok now.” Musk reposted the statement, reinforcing his company’s intent to rival the search giant.
Following its release, Musk announced on X, “The @xAI Grok 3 release will improve rapidly every day this week. Please report any issues as a reply to this post.” Google CEO Sundar Pichai offered a rare response, saying, “Congrats on the progress! Look forward to trying it out.”
Grok 3 is presently rolling out to Premium Plus subscribers on X. Musk also revealed a new subscription plan, “Super Grok,” which will offer advanced capabilities and early access to new features through the Grok app and the website, grok.com. Musk added, “Make sure to update your X app to explore all the advanced features, as we’ve just released the update.” Further, a voice interaction feature is planned. Musk stated, “The goal is to make it so you can talk to it just like you would a person. I think it’s going to be one of the best experiences with Grok 3, but that should be about a week away.”
