Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Türkiye ranks among the world’s top three countries in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology during the TEKNOFEST Award Ceremony in Lefkosa. Erdogan expressed determination to continue advancing in this field, citing the importance of TEKNOFEST youth and strategic projects in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Erdogan’s Statement and TEKNOFEST Significance
“With the TEKNOFEST youth, the projects rising across TRNC, and our strategic initiatives, we will continue to stand here for centuries to come,” Erdogan said, emphasizing Türkiye’s strong relations with TRNC. He reaffirmed that the Turkish nation and Turkish Cypriots are the rightful hosts of these lands.
TRNC President Ersin Tatar praised Türkiye’s defense industry achievements, stating that the institutions behind these successes are monuments of pride for the entire Turkic world. Tatar highlighted that the peace and security of Turkish Cypriots in the Eastern Mediterranean depend on Türkiye’s presence and the security provided by the Turkish Armed Forces.
TEKNOFEST Event Highlights
The TEKNOFEST event in Lefkosa attracted thousands of visitors, with around 62,000 attendees on the first day. The festival featured aerial displays by Turkish indigenous aerial vehicles, including SOLOTURK, HURKUS, Bayraktar TB2, and the T-129 ATAK helicopter.

The event showcased Türkiye’s advancements in aviation and space technology, emphasizing the country’s commitment to future technological growth and its strategic partnerships with TRNC.
