Recent Partnerships in Event Technology
The event technology sector has seen significant developments with several major announcements in recent weeks. Key partnerships have been formed between industry leaders to enhance the event experience for both participants and organizers.
PCMA and Gevme Enhance Spark AI Platform
PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) and event technology solutions provider Gevme have rolled out new enhancements to Spark, a generative AI tool designed specifically for event professionals. Introduced nearly 17 months ago, Spark has gained popularity with over 9,000 users. The platform helps identify viable destinations and venues for events.

“Business events strategists are continually seeking opportunities to be as productive as possible while being mindful of their footprint and impact on destinations and venues,” said Sherrif Karamat, PCMA and CEMA President and CEO. The enhanced Spark platform is the result of a partnership with Tempest.im, a destination marketing solutions agency.
Several destinations, including Dallas, Detroit, Long Beach, Minneapolis, and Pittsburgh, are in the early stages of integration with Spark through the Tempest alliance. “Meet Minneapolis has been actively exploring the potential of AI tools to enhance our operations,” said Melvin Tennant, president and CEO of Meet Minneapolis. The integration enables business events strategists to identify suitable destinations and venues more efficiently.

“We’re excited to partner with PCMA and Gevme on the Spark integration,” said Alex Heimann, CEO of Tempest. The collaboration enhances Spark’s event planning capabilities by providing high-quality destination data.
IAEE Partners with Snöball for Marketing
The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) announced a three-year partnership with Snöball, a peer-to-peer marketing solution, during their annual meeting. This partnership aims to expand the reach of IAEE’s Expo! Expo! event through enhanced marketing efforts.

“This partnership underscores the transformative power of peer-to-peer marketing in driving event growth and membership recruitment,” said Rachel Stephan, Snöball’s Founder and CEO. The platform empowers event ambassadors to expand the event’s reach while enhancing their personal digital brand.
EXPOCAD and August Robotics Collaborate on Automation
EXPOCAD, a provider of event management software, announced a partnership with August Robotics to integrate their technologies. The collaboration enables automated layout design, booth numbering, and floor marking through EXPOCAD’s Contractor software and August Robotics’ Lionel floor marking robot.

“This collaboration represents a new era in trade show management,” said Rich Stone, CEO of EXPOCAD. The integration reduces the time and labor required for venue setup, making operations faster and more accurate.
These partnerships demonstrate the ongoing innovation in the event technology sector, focusing on enhancing efficiency, productivity, and the overall event experience.
