EventR Team 2.0.1: A Significant Update for Event Management
In the bustling market of event management solutions, substantial updates to established platforms warrant attention. Soft Pauer recently launched version 2.0.1 of its EventR Team platform, and after testing the update, it appears the platform directly addresses some of the most significant challenges faced by event professionals.

A Major Overhaul, Not Just a Patch
Unlike typical minor version updates, EventR 2.0.1 seems to be the result of many months of development, with a focus on user experience and expanded functionality. Soft Pauer representatives noted that this larger-than-normal release resulted from extensive user feedback gathered over the past year.
Key Improvements Worth Noting
Real-Time Location Mapping
The addition of a map tab is perhaps the most immediately noticeable change. EventR now offers location sharing between team members, but importantly, only while the app is running. This approach strikes a sensible balance between functionality and privacy/battery life.
Location points are tied to activity addresses, making it practical for tracking team movements during busy event days. In testing, this feature proved particularly valuable during multi-venue events. However, event locations must have proper addresses entered for them to appear correctly.
Streamlined User Onboarding
The introduction of Google and Apple login options represents a meaningful improvement for temporary team management. While Soft Pauer recommends enterprise customers continue using their Coordinator Hub for detailed account management, the social sign-in options significantly reduce friction when bringing contractors or temporary staff into the system.
Enhanced Flight Management
Event professionals who manage travel will appreciate the improved flight tracking features. The platform now displays more detailed flight status information and—crucially—handles multiple flights with the same code on the same day, a practice that causes headaches for travel coordinators.
Organization Through Tagging and Archiving
For organizations managing numerous events, the new tagging system introduces much-needed structure. Enterprise users can now categorize itineraries by year, event type, or coordinator using color-coded tags. An “archive” function helps users clean up displays without permanently deleting historical data.
User Experience Refinements
Beyond the headline features, smaller improvements demonstrate attention to practical usage:
- Offline chat access for low-connectivity venues
- Support for 12-hour time display based on locale
- Countdown timers to upcoming activities
- Improved address lookup accuracy
- Keyboard navigation enhancements for the Coordinator Hub
Privacy and Data Control
The new personal information store for enterprise users deserves particular mention. This feature allows organizations to request specific information from team members (dietary requirements, passport details, etc.) while giving individuals control over their data. Users can revoke access to their information at any time—a privacy-conscious approach that stands out in today’s data-hungry software landscape.
Is It Worth The Update?
For current EventR users, updating is recommended. While most devices should update automatically, manual verification is time well spent, given the substantial improvements. For event teams considering new management platforms, version 2.0.1 positions EventR as a more mature solution, especially for organizations managing complex, multi-person itineraries across different locations.
The platform still appears focused on its enterprise customers, with many of the most powerful features (team profiles, itinerary tagging) reserved for this tier. Smaller teams using the standard version will benefit primarily from the mapping features, the improved date selection, and social login options.
Looking Ahead
While Soft Pauer has addressed numerous user requests with this release, they’ve indicated that additional features like background location tracking could be forthcoming based on user feedback. The current implementation focuses on intentional location sharing rather than continuous tracking.
EventR Team 2.0.1 is available now on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Organizations interested in the enterprise features can contact Soft Pauer directly through their website.
