Finland backs ICEYE with R&D funding
Finland’s business promotion agency, Business Finland, has granted research and development funding to satellite and defence technology company ICEYE. This move marks another step in European efforts to support the rapidly growing space technology sector.
Privately owned ICEYE has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with a fleet of 48 Synthetic Aperture Radar satellites providing near real-time imaging. The company’s client base includes Ukraine, NATO, and Japan, demonstrating its significant presence in the global market.
Business Finland has assigned 41.1 million euros ($47.2 million) in funding to ICEYE. This investment is expected to further bolster the company’s research and development capabilities, potentially leading to new advancements in satellite and defence technology.
