The Fitness Technology Summit is expanding its reach. After establishing itself in North America, the invite-only summit is set to hold its inaugural European event in London this summer.
The event, The Fitness Technology Summit Europe 2025, is the result of a partnership between ALTA Technology Group, the event organizer, and LeisureLabs, a U.K.-based digital agency specializing in fitness and wellness brands. The summit will take place on June 24-25, 2025, at Stamford Bridge, the home stadium of Premier League soccer club Chelsea FC.
This marks the first time The Fitness Technology Summit, an annual event focused on the convergence of fitness and technology, will be held outside of North America.
“We are thrilled to partner with the LeisureLabs team to bring The Fitness Technology Summit to the U.K. Europe has a dynamic and fast-growing fitness technology sector, and LeisureLabs are leading the way in this market,” said Al Noshirvani, managing partner at ALTA. “We are confident this event will provide an invaluable opportunity for networking, knowledge-sharing and innovation.”
Having first launched in 2012 as the Motionsoft Technology Summit, the event brings together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and key decision-makers to discuss current trends and hot topics, while also providing ample networking opportunities. Each year, the Summit supports a charitable cause. Past beneficiaries include the Wounded Warrior Project and Back on My Feet.
Last year’s event, held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, was in conjunction with Augie’s Quest BASH, an ALS fundraiser honoring the late Life Fitness founder, Augie Nieto. During the event, Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness, received the inaugural Augie Nieto Fitness Legacy Award.
Organizers have confirmed that The Fitness Technology Summit Europe 2025 will be an invite-only event, consistent with previous summits. The advisory panel for the London event comprises industry experts, including Andy Caddy of PureGym, Steven Dick of Third Space, Mark Williams of David Lloyd Clubs, Milan Juza of The Gym Group, and Dr. Paul Bedford of The Retention Guru.
“We’ve long been supporters and fans of The Fitness Technology Summit, and we believe that there is a clear need in the European market to create an environment where fitness and technology leaders can connect, collaborate and drive the future of the industry together,” stated Alex Peacock, founder of LeisureLabs. “We’re delighted to be working with the team at ALTA to make this a reality, and we can’t wait to welcome the industry’s brightest minds to London.”
The U.K.’s fitness market is experiencing considerable growth, with a valuation of £5.9 billion ($7.6 billion) in 2024, according to a recent report. Over 10 million gym memberships exist in the U.K., fueled by the success of both high-value, low-price (HVLP) operators such as PureGym, and premium boutique fitness brands like 1Rebel.
Following the London event in June, The Fitness Technology Summit will host its 2025 North American event in Chicago this fall, scheduled for October 13-15 at the InterContinental Hotel.
