Frontier Technology Inc. (FTI), a key provider of technology solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community, has appointed Jose Hidalgo as its new Chief Executive Officer.
The announcement was made by Ron Shroder, FTI’s long-time CEO and current Chairman of the Board, who will continue in his role as Chairman. FTI has a strong presence in Huntsville, Alabama. Shroder praised Hidalgo’s contributions, stating, “Jose Hidalgo has done a tremendous job leading the company for the last several years. He has matured our business model, deepened our collaboration with customers and increased the value we deliver to solve tough mission data challenges.”
Shroder also highlighted the recent success of the company, saying, “Our recent series of new contract awards are a testament to FTI’s rapidly evolving technology and expertise, and we look forward to partnering even more closely with our customers under Jose and his team’s leadership now and into the future.”
Hidalgo joined FTI in 2018 as the Chief Financial Officer. During his time as CFO, the company has developed and enhanced its technology offerings, incorporating AI/ML and predictive capabilities across areas like space operations and cyber solutions. Under Hidalgo’s leadership, FTI has also streamlined internal operations, enhancing organizational agility and collaborations between teams. The company has also established two major technology centers of excellence since 2023 to drive closer collaboration with partners in the DoD, Intelligence Community, academia, and industry.
Since June 2024, FTI has been awarded positions on several significant IDIQ contracts. Some of these include Space RCO, the U.S. Air Force, and a major DoD cyber initiative. Previously, Hidalgo held the position of vice president of accounting and treasury at Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), an aerospace and defense contractor.
