March 12 (Reuters) – The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has reversed its earlier assertion that it needed to delay the trial in its consumer protection case against Amazon.com (AMZN.O), stating that it can now adhere to the court’s stipulated schedule.
The agency’s change of position comes after it previously cited “severe resource shortfalls” attributed to cost-cutting measures. The FTC’s updated statement indicates the agency is now confident in its capacity to proceed with the case according to the previously established timeline.
