The IPDJ building in Faro hosted the GeekSessions Faro conference, a prominent event that drew over 120 technology and innovation enthusiasts. Marking its 15th anniversary, the conference featured a diverse program of six talks and two interactive workshops, offering a comprehensive overview of the latest trends in the tech world.
In the morning session, attendees heard presentations from two members of the Google Developer Experts group, Jai Campbell and Önder Ceylan, who shared insights into emerging topics in Artificial Intelligence, a dominant force in today’s technological landscape. Subsequently, David Pilato, an evangelist from the multinational company Elastic, presented on audio pattern recognition technology. Simultaneously, J. Palma led a practical workshop on Personal Knowledge Systems, providing an immersive experience for all participants.
The afternoon schedule included a workshop led by Fellyph Cintra, focusing on the integration of Large Language Model (LLM) technologies into web applications. Following this, talks by Leo Melo, Liliana Pereira, and Lukas Borawski covered a range of subjects, including recruitment processes within companies, the use of AI as a support tool in the workplace, and the implementation of LLMs on personal devices.
The conference concluded with a networking event and party at the Palimpsetsu bar, supported by the LOFT Digital Nomads Association in Faro. This provided a relaxed environment for attendees to connect, enjoy music, and continue discussions.
The GeekSessions Faro group is dedicated to fostering knowledge exchange and experience-sharing among tech professionals and enthusiasts in the Algarve region. Through periodic events, the group aims to encourage local innovation and collaboration.
