The next generation B360 and B360 Pro combine fully rugged build quality with a host of innovative new technology upgrades.

These laptops incorporate the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors and Intel AI Boost technology, offering on-device Edge AI capabilities. This allows users to quickly and efficiently execute tasks in scenarios requiring real-time processing, high data privacy and security, offline functionality, and cost-effectiveness.

    AI-Ready Performance

The B360 series combines rugged build quality with a suite of new tech upgrades. In a recent evaluation with Getac customers using Llama 3.1 8B, the AI applications running on the B360 were capable of generating full reports from extensive text in seconds. This Edge AI performance provides operational advantages over cloud-based AI, especially in environments demanding privacy and real-time processing.

Furthermore, the new generation B360 and B360 Pro feature a range of I/O options and WiFi 7. The new I/O options include up to two Thunderbolt 4 ports for rapid data transfer. LifeSupport hot-swappable battery technology also enhances productivity, and WiFi 7 offers data speeds up to five times faster than WiFi 6 and a 60% reduction in latency.

The B360 Pro also offers dual high-capacity batteries, and an optional NVIDIA Quadro RTX A500 4GB discrete graphics controller. An optional media bay on the B360 Pro can additionally accommodate a third SSD, a third battery, or a DVD or Blu-Ray drive.

    Tailored Solutions for Specific Industries

The next-generation B360 and B360 Pro are offered in various industry-specific configurations and can be customized with options spanning software, hardware, accessories, and service offerings. This allows customers to create devices precisely matched to their needs, even when ordering in small batches.

    Key Industry Applications:

    • Public Safety: For public safety professionals like police officers, the B360 devices can be customized with software and hardware to optimize situational awareness. Software options like Getac Geolocation and extra authentication layers enhance device access and data security. Additional accessories like vehicle docks and high-capacity batteries also provide additional field usability opportunities.

    • Utilities: Suited for mobile GIS, surveying, and mapping tasks in challenging conditions, the B360 offers MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G, and IP66 certifications, as well as 6ft drop resistance. Software such as Getac Virtual GPS Utility offers a fast and reliable way to manage up to five GPS applications. The device can additionally be equipped with a high-accuracy GPS module and antenna.

    • Defense: In the defense industry, commanders leverage Getac devices for real-time intelligence and communications. The B360 Pro, with its extended battery life and optional vehicle dock provides reliable command and control in the field. The B360 Pro can also be customized to include two PCMCIA readers.

“As open-source and Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) language models continue to grow, we’ve collaborated with industry customers to create innovative AI applications,” said James Hwang, President of Getac Technology Corporation. “These advancements are set to drive demand for rugged Edge AI devices like the B360 and B360 Pro, and boost AI adoption across public safety, utilities, and defense.” Hwang also noted that the company’s customization capabilities give control to customers selecting devices for specific needs, maximizing productivity and ensuring a rapid return on investment.

The next generation B360 and B360 Pro are scheduled for release in April.
