Google Maps Updates: A Name Game
When asked to name the highest peak in Alaska, the answer is Denali. When questioned about the body of water bordering Texas, the answer is the Gulf of Mexico.
Recently, an executive order was issued to change the name of Denali to Mount McKinley and the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Google has indicated that it will implement these changes.
This week, Google began displaying the “Gulf of America” label on its maps service to U.S. users.
