Google VP Karan Bhatia Discusses Geopolitical Tensions and AI Adoption

In a recent interview with Bloomberg’s Chief North Asia Correspondent Stephen Engle on the sidelines of the APEC trade ministers’ meeting in Jeju, South Korea, Google VP Karan Bhatia shared his insights on the impact of US-China geopolitical tensions on the global tech industry. Bhatia expressed strong optimism regarding AI adoption and growth potential in the Asia Pacific region, emphasizing Google’s long-term commitment to the area despite rising trade tensions.

Bhatia’s comments come at a time when the tech industry is navigating complex trade dynamics between the US and China. Despite these challenges, he remains positive about the future of AI in the region. “[Quote from Bhatia about AI adoption or trade tensions]”, Bhatia said during the interview, highlighting the potential for continued growth in the tech sector.

The interview took place during the APEC trade ministers’ meeting, a significant event that brings together key stakeholders to discuss trade policies and economic cooperation in the Asia Pacific region. Bhatia’s presence at the meeting underscores Google’s engagement with the evolving economic landscape in the region.
