ST. MARYS, Ohio – Grand Lake Health System is improving patient care and caregiver safety with the recent installation of Hercules Patient Repositioners. This innovative technology marks a significant step forward in assisting nurses with the physically demanding task of repositioning patients in bed.
The new equipment was unveiled at a special demonstration attended by hospital staff. The Hercules system is designed to eliminate the need for manual lifting, thereby reducing the risk of injury and providing enhanced comfort for patients. Amy Becker, nurse manager at Grand Lake Health System, shared her enthusiasm for the new device. “I feel great to know that we’re supporting our staff and our patients with this technology. The staff have provided overwhelmingly positive feedback. We have gotten to use the technology for the last couple of months, and we have realized that it not only benefits our post-op C-section patients but our patients in labor who get epidurals as well.”
Grand Lake Health System’s birthing center is now the first inpatient care center in Ohio to implement this technology. This investment underscores the hospital’s commitment to providing top-tier patient care while prioritizing the well-being of its nursing staff.
