Grob Systems Inc. will host an Aerospace Technology Day on November 19th, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its North America headquarters and production facility in Bluffton, Ohio.
The event, held in partnership with Concepts NREC, Emuge-Franken USA, Open Mind Technologies, Seco, and Third Wave Systems, will showcase live machining demonstrations. Attendees will see the high-precision GROB G350 5-Axis Universal Machining Center in action, with demonstrations highlighting aerospace applications, including the machining of a blisk and an aluminum structural part. A tandem drive machine, ideal for long, thin parts, will also be featured, demonstrating its ability to provide excellent stability by holding parts on both ends.

Concepts NREC’s Max-Pac CAM software will present advanced programming strategies tailored for turbomachinery applications. Emuge-Franken USA will demonstrate its Circle Segment milling tools, utilizing programming from Open Mind Technologies HyperMill CAM software for manufacturing aerospace structural components. Seco will present and demonstrate a range of high-performance end mills designed for cutting tough materials and complex parts. Third Wave Systems will participate by analyzing tool paths using its machining modeling solution.
A “Technical Talk” will allow attendees to interact with engineers and product specialists, discussing challenges in specialized aerospace application manufacturing. Tours of Grob’s 400,000-square-foot facility, which features the vertically integrated manufacturing of machining centers and automation, will also be offered.
The event is free of charge, and manufacturing professionals are encouraged to attend. More details and registration information are available on the Aerospace Technology Day website.
