N Space Tech Names DRDO Veteran Dr. Madhumita Chakravarti as R&D Head
HYDERABAD: Aerospace and defence startup N Space Tech, based in Hyderabad, has appointed Dr. Madhumita Chakravarti as its head of research and development. Dr. Chakravarti brings over three decades of experience in defence research to the role.

At N Space Tech, Dr. Chakravarti will lead advancements in radio frequency (RF) systems, radar technology, among other areas. Her primary focus will be on strengthening indigenous defence capabilities while ensuring compliance with all technical and operational requirements.
Dr. Chakravarti’s background includes a pivotal role at the Research Centre Imarat (RCI). She will oversee ongoing research initiatives in RF sensors, radar systems, and other applications related to aerospace defence.
N Space Tech founder and director, Divya Kothamasu, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment. Kothamasu noted that Dr. Chakravarti’s expertise in indigenous defence technology aligns perfectly with the company’s mission to push innovation in the space and defence sectors. “We are excited to have her lead our R&D efforts and propel us toward global competitiveness,” Kothamasu stated.
During her tenure at RCI, Dr. Chakravarti developed programmable and reconfigurable airborne RF sensors for defence programs, as well as multi-function RF chips. The systems she designed are currently deployed by the Indian Air Force and Indian Army as part of weapon systems. Her contributions have earned her several accolades, including DRDO’s Path Breaking Technology Award (2010, 2017) and the INAE Woman Engineer of the Year Award (2021), which recognized her as one of India’s top women engineers.
The Hyderabad-based startup hopes to reinforce India’s position in the fields of defence and aerospace through research-driven advancements under Dr. Chakravarti’s leadership. N Space Tech focuses on developing advanced technologies for national security and space exploration, specializing in RF sensors, radar systems, and electronic warfare solutions.
