Las Vegas Set to Welcome First AI-Powered Hotel
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A groundbreaking hotel concept is coming to the Las Vegas area, with the debut of the first AI-powered hotel scheduled for July 1. The Otonomous Hotel, currently under construction at the intersection of Russell and Decatur, promises a uniquely personalized experience for its guests, leveraging the capabilities of machine learning.

The AI integration begins before check-in with a customized quiz designed to understand individual guest preferences. According to Martina Barbarian, Vice President of Experience, Brand, and Culture for Otonomous Hotels, the quiz is central to creating a VIP-style experience.
“If you stay with a hotel a few times, they might know how many nights you’ve stayed, and how much money have you spent, but do they really know what you like to eat or drink or what you like to do?” Barbarian questioned. “Probably not.”
By gathering data through the initial quiz, the AI system personalizes each guest’s stay. The AI can inform restaurant staff of food and drink preferences and provide the concierge with tailored recommendations for experiences around Las Vegas. Furthermore, the system is designed to automatically adjust room settings, like the air conditioning and lighting, based on individual preferences.
Rooms at the Otonomous Hotel will be apartment-style, offering guests the convenience of full kitchens and living rooms. The hotel plans to open on July 1, with rooms starting at $325 per night.

Despite its cutting-edge technology, the hotel aims to avoid the cold aesthetic often associated with dystopian sci-fi settings. As Barbarian emphasized, the hotel will be fully staffed. “When you actually walk around the property, you’re going to see people here,” she noted. “We have the best talent in the world in Las Vegas, and the technology will never, ever replace talent, ever. So, the idea is that we enhance it, and we balance it. So we will definitely have wonderful people on property staffed, working to take care of our guests.”
The Otonomous Hotel offers guests a wide degree of control over their experience. Guests can choose the level of integration they prefer, with options ranging from using a smartphone as a room key to relying on traditional physical keys.

For guests concerned about data privacy, Barbarian confirmed that they can choose not to provide any data to the hotel and have the option to permanently delete their stored information at any time.
Local residents can look forward to special deals and experiences, which are currently in development, according to Barbarian.
