Kevin Tupper, a seasoned professional with three decades of experience in the technology sector, has been appointed as Microsoft’s chief architect of AI transformation and federal AI evangelist, as announced on his LinkedIn profile on Friday.
Tupper’s new role will focus on advancing the adoption and innovation of artificial intelligence within the federal government. This includes promoting the growth of Microsoft’s AI product portfolio, which encompasses offerings like Microsoft 365 Copilot, generative AI, and large-scale automation solutions.
Tupper expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating he intends to leverage his considerable leadership abilities, business acumen, and profound understanding of emerging technologies to benefit individuals and communities throughout the public sector in his position as an AI evangelist.
Career Highlights
Tupper’s career has encompassed two periods of service at Microsoft. His most recent role was as principal cloud solution architect and AI evangelist. In this capacity, he led a team of cloud solution architects, facilitating the accelerated implementation of big data, advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, and cloud services for federal agencies.
Prior to returning to Microsoft, Tupper held the position of chief technology officer at For The Record for a year. His initial tenure at Microsoft spanned nearly three years, which included positions as a cloud solution architect and AI ambassador for a year, and a data and AI technology specialist before that.
Before his time at Microsoft, Tupper held multiple leadership roles. He served as a senior architect and application project manager at Dimension Data. Additionally, from 2011 to 2013, he was the chief technology officer at AIC Communications. Tupper began his career in 1995 as a consultant and CTO of EZLinks Golf, a company specializing in global tee time reservations.
