Microsoft Considers Developing Its Own High-End Generative AI Platform

Microsoft is exploring the development of its own high-performance artificial intelligence platform model, according to CEO Satya Nadella. The move signals Microsoft’s plans to further integrate AI into its business software and services.

During an interview with Nikkei and TV Tokyo, Nadella explained that developing a proprietary platform would allow Microsoft to optimize AI services for its business software offerings. Currently, Microsoft utilizes the technology of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, a leading generative AI. However, creating in-house capabilities would give Microsoft greater control.

“We will build our own capability to complement all of what we’re doing with OpenAI,” Nadella stated. He added that Microsoft would deploy the technology through its business software if it provides added value to its customers.

The announcement reflects a growing trend among tech giants to develop their own AI platforms. By doing so, companies can better tailor AI solutions to their specific needs and gain a competitive advantage.
