Elon University Users Experience Outlook Issues During Microsoft Outage
Elon University students, faculty, and staff experienced disruption to their Microsoft Outlook email services on March 1, 2025, due to a widespread outage affecting Microsoft users.
According to an Elon E-Alert sent at 7:29 p.m. on Friday, the Microsoft outage has been resolved.
Earlier in the day, at 5:01 p.m., Campus Information Technology (IT) announced awareness of the issue and that Microsoft was working to resolve the problem. A status checker included in a technology update email revealed that almost 38,000 users reported outages by 4:08 p.m.
Elon News Network (ENN) reached out to Elon IT for comment, but the office was closed and unavailable.
