Microsoft has restored services after a major outage disrupted its platforms, including Outlook, Microsoft 365, Teams, and Azure, primarily affecting users in major US cities like New York and Los Angeles.

The outage began around 3:30 AM IST. Microsoft confirmed the restoration of services, stating, “Following our reversion of the problematic code change, we’ve monitored service telemetry and worked with previously impacted users to confirm that service is restored. According to online outage tracking platform Downdetector, over 37,330 complaints were registered for Outlook alone, with thousands more reporting issues with other Microsoft services.
User reports on X indicated widespread issues.

Microsoft initially acknowledged the problem on X, indicating an investigation into the matter. The company stated, “We’re investigating an issue in which users may be unable to access Outlook features and services. Additional details can be found under MO1020913 in the admin center.” Microsoft had also reported: “We’ve identified a potential cause of impact and have reverted the suspected code to alleviate impact.
