Microsoft Unlocks Unlimited Access to Copilot’s Enhanced Features
Microsoft has eliminated the usage restrictions for its Copilot Voice and Think Deeper functionalities. These features, leveraging OpenAI’s advanced o1 reasoning model, are now available to all free users without limitations.
According to a recent blog post, Microsoft confirmed that these features utilize the same large language model that powers the advanced voice mode and deep research capabilities found in ChatGPT.
Copilot Voice allows users to converse with the AI chatbot in a natural, conversational manner, similar to speaking with a human. Users can also interrupt the AI during its responses, much like the Gemini Live feature.
As for Think Deeper, it mirrors ChatGPT’s Deep Research feature, currently restricted to paid subscribers by OpenAI. Microsoft suggests that Think Deeper can be beneficial for navigating complex subjects, such as making significant purchase decisions, evaluating the future value of home renovations, or planning career moves.
It is worth noting that Think Deeper may require more time to generate responses due to the complexity of its tasks, so users should anticipate potential delays.

These features, while not entirely new, were previously subject to usage constraints for free Copilot users. Microsoft’s decision to remove these limits is a response to user feedback, as many encountered these restrictions during use. Ultimately, Microsoft wants users to engage in extended dialogues with the AI chatbot, which will now be possible.
This move by Microsoft to provide features usually available to Copilot Pro users might be a calculated response to emerging AI chatbots, such as China’s DeepSeek AI, which offers a range of similar functionalities. The company is working hard to stay competetive in this ever-changing field.
