Thousands of Microsoft users experienced disruptions in accessing various programs on Saturday afternoon. The issues primarily affected services such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure.
“We’re investigating an issue in which users may be unable to access Outlook features and services,” Microsoft 365 Status, the official account for Microsoft 365 service incidents, announced on X. The post directed users to the admin center for “Additional details… under MO1020913.”
Reports of service outages surged after 3:30 p.m. ET. According to Downdetector, over 37,000 individuals reported an Outlook outage, and approximately 24,000 reported issues with Microsoft’s 365 service. Around 150 users reported problems with their Teams accounts.
The outages were most concentrated in major metropolitan areas, including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, according to Downdetector data. Users also took to social media platform X to voice their frustration over the inability to access their Outlook emails, sparking concerns about a global Microsoft outage.
As of the latest update, Microsoft has not acknowledged the issue on its service health update page, and the company has not yet issued a public statement in response to requests for comment.
