Microsoft’s New R&D Center in Noida
Noida, India – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone for a 15-acre Microsoft campus in Noida Sector 145 on Saturday. This new India Development Centre (IDC) will be Microsoft’s largest Research and Development (R&D) center outside of its Redmond headquarters. The project is expected to boost employment in the region and benefit nearby districts.

Officials highlighted the support of the Uttar Pradesh government and the Noida Authority in making this project a reality.
“I have been told that Microsoft’s India Development Center will become the largest centre of research and development outside their headquarters (Redmond)… After Hyderabad, now Uttar Pradesh is going to be the home of Microsoft in the form of a new campus,” CM Yogi Adityanath said.
CM Yogi emphasized that Microsoft’s decision to locate its key R&D center in Noida demonstrates the region’s appeal as a prime investment destination.
The facility, spanning 1.1 million square feet, will focus on advancements in AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity to accelerate digital transformation. Microsoft IDC will also offer AI skilling opportunities and strengthen its partnership with Uttar Pradesh. Microsoft already has significant development centers in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India an AI-first nation, according to company representatives. Along with the Microsoft campus groundbreaking, CM Yogi also inaugurated MAQ Software’s AI Engineering Center and the Sify Data Center in Noida.
