Microsoft is expanding its presence in Barcelona with a new digital sales hub, slated to create 250 jobs in the coming months. The company has already hired 44 employees for the office, with women comprising 59% of the current team.
The company is actively recruiting for roles such as solution specialists, cloud architects, and technical specialists, according to a company statement. All job openings are available on the Microsoft Careers website.
David Hernández, Director of Enterprise at Microsoft Ibérica, highlighted the strategic importance of the Barcelona location: “Choosing Barcelona as the location for this new center reflects Microsoft’s commitment to supporting the development of the region’s digital talent and strengthening the city’s appeal as a technology hub for professionals across Europe.”
The Barcelona hub will serve businesses across 13 European countries, offering services in ten languages. This new center is part of Microsoft’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) regional network, joining existing offices in Dublin and Cairo.
Barcelona has emerged as a vibrant center for digital talent, further evidenced by events like the recent Mobile World Congress and Talent Arena. The Digital Talent Overview Report, published by Mobile World Capital, indicates that the city is home to over 122,000 digital professionals. In 2023, Barcelona saw a 12% increase in the number of digital professionals entering the workforce, underscoring the city’s growing appeal in the tech sector.
