Microsoft Corp. has alerted the public to a sophisticated campaign of supply-chain attacks orchestrated by a Chinese hacking group.
In a blog post released on Wednesday, the company’s threat intelligence division identified the group, known as Silk Typhoon, as the culprit. The group has been targeting remote management tools and cloud applications, aiming to spy on a variety of organizations and companies both in the US and internationally.
Silk Typhoon has previously been linked to the breach of the US Treasury.
The hackers are reportedly seeking information on US policy and ongoing investigations.
