Smith believes Ireland possesses the potential “to be a leader in specialized areas of AI,” a sentiment echoed by the Taoiseach. Microsoft’s relationship with Ireland dates back to 1985, when the company established a small manufacturing operation in Dublin, employing fewer than 100 people. The company’s presence in Ireland has grown significantly since then.
