Miles College Pioneers Tech Innovation with AI Yard Fest
Fairfield, AL – [October 28, 2024] – Miles College is set to host the AI Yard Fest, a dynamic event designed to propel the next wave of tech professionals. Powered by Latimer.ai, this groundbreaking festival on November 7, beginning at 11 AM, will take place on the Miles College campus inside the Kirkendoll Learning Resources Center.

Focusing on artificial intelligence and its innovative applications, the AI Yard Fest aims to cultivate opportunities for underrepresented entrepreneurs in the tech sector. The 2150 Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Growth, which supports the development of promising companies through training, mentorship, and investment, will play a crucial role in the event.
At the intersection of purpose and progress, the 2150 Center is dedicated to transforming the narrative of HBCU innovation while promoting the success of minority-owned businesses. This dedication reflects a larger commitment to empowering underserved communities through education and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Key collaborators, including Latimer.ai, will be central to the event. Latimer.ai, an innovator in AI education, is renowned for providing cutting-edge solutions and empowering institutions to integrate AI into their curricula. Joining them will be Black Girls CODE, an organization dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging among Black girls in the tech industry, equipping them with the skills and resources needed to lead.

HBCU Cares will also partner with the AI Yard Fest, reinforcing the importance of collaboration to expand access to technology within underrepresented communities. Their support highlights the event’s commitment to inclusivity and equitable opportunity.
The 2150 Innovation, Commercialization & Growth Center, recently launched, aims to bridge gaps in access, education, and funding, specifically for underserved founders and entrepreneurs. “National thought leaders and founders will take over the campus and energize innovators and disruptors,” said 2150 CEO & Founder In Residence Erskine “Chuck” Faush. The AI Fest will support those seeking guidance on practical Al uses, empower those with transformative ideas, and educate those curious about Al.
