The New Hampshire Senate passed a bill on Thursday designed to safeguard children from harmful content generated by artificial intelligence.
The legislation specifically targets and criminalizes the creation of explicitly generated content that is created by AI and aimed at harming children.
Senate Majority Leader Sharon Carson emphasized the importance of updating laws to keep pace with the ongoing rapid advancements in AI technology. This issue was previously highlighted by News 9 Investigates last year, which consulted with the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding their concerns about the potential misuse of AI to exploit children online.
