Nvidia is set to showcase its latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing this week, according to reports. The announcement comes as the company navigates a changing market, including the rise of competitors like China’s DeepSeek.
Nvidia’s CEO to Highlight New Technologies
Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, is expected to take center stage at Nvidia’s annual developers conference in San Jose, California. The event, which takes place at the SAP Center, is where Huang plans to unveil new details regarding the company’s latest advancements.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has touted artificial intelligence being built into real-world creations such as robots as being among promising markets for the technology powered by his company’s chips.
Industry analysts anticipate that Huang will focus on the company’s Blackwell line of graphics processing units (GPUs), including upcoming updates. The AI boom significantly propelled Nvidia stock prices to high levels. However, a recent market correction has brought about slight decreases in the stock’s prices. The stock, one of the most heavily traded on Wall Street, has seen a slight recovery despite a recent low.
DeepSeek’s Impact on the AI Market
The emergence of China-based DeepSeek has shaken up the generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) landscape. DeepSeek’s low-cost, high-performance model poses a competitive challenge to industry leaders like OpenAI.
However, questions have been raised by some countries about DeepSeek’s data-handling practices. DeepSeek states that its data is collected on secure servers within China.
Nvidia’s high-end GPUs are in high demand from tech giants building data centers for AI. Some believe that a low-cost alternative could weaken the Silicon Valley chip maker’s business. Ben Van Roo, co-founder and CEO of Yurts, believes DeepSeek’s popularity is positive for Nvidia.
“DeepSeek drastically accelerated the desire to consume these models,” Van Roo said. “You’ve opened the world’s appetite even more (to generative AI) and independent of the fact that it’s Chinese, I think it was a good day for Nvidia.”
Blackwell Processors and the Future of AI
Nvidia has increased production of its top-tier Blackwell processors for AI applications. The company registered billions in sales during its first quarter of release. Huang recently told financial analysts that “AI is advancing at light speed” and is setting the stage “for the next wave of AI to revolutionize the largest industries.”
Huang expects Nvidia’s chips and software platforms will continue to be crucial in powering AI for robots, vehicles, and digital agents, as well as in training AI.
Quantum Computing Expansion
The CEO is also expected to highlight the company’s advancements in quantum computing. After some setbacks, quantum computing is accelerating. Major breakthroughs and use cases are expected within the next few years. The US and China are leading the quantum development race and are making significant investments. Nvidia is poised to facilitate quantum computing, using GPUs like those made by the company.
Nvidia reported record-high revenue of $130.5 billion last year, fueled by the demand for its AI chips in data centers. The company projects approximately $43 billion in revenue for the current fiscal quarter, exceeding projections.
