Oklo Appoints Veteran Executive Pat Schweiger as Chief Technology Officer
SANTA CLARA, Calif.–Oklo Inc. (NYSE: OKLO), a leading advanced nuclear technology company, has announced the appointment of Pat Schweiger as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Schweiger brings over 40 years of leadership experience in the energy sector to the role.

Schweiger’s extensive background includes hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of energy system development, from engineering design and testing to construction, startup, and operations. His expertise in scaling robust engineering organizations through high-performing teams and strategic partnerships will be crucial as Oklo moves toward commercializing its advanced nuclear technologies.
“Pat’s decades of experience in power engineering will be a tremendous asset to Oklo,” said Oklo co-founder and CEO Jacob DeWitte. “His experience at the Fast Flux Test Facility provides a direct link to the technology legacy that our reactor design builds on.”
Schweiger’s career highlights include his recent role at Hedron Engineering and Consulting, where he led teams working on a high-capacity thermal battery initiative at MIT and supported small modular reactor projects. Previously, he served as Chief Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, building the engineering organization from the ground up and helping raise over $2 billion in private funding.
“Those of us who have built and operated sodium-cooled fast reactors like the Fast Flux Test Facility understand their inherent safety and efficiency,” Schweiger said. “I’m excited to help bring that success forward again at Oklo.”
At TerraPower (2010-2018), Schweiger established a mature engineering organization as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Design Authority. He holds a Master’s Certificate in project management, is a licensed Professional Engineer, and has multiple patents in nuclear technology in the U.S. and China.
Oklo is developing fast fission power plants for clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale. The company has achieved several milestones, including receiving a site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy and submitting the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
