CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Olympus Corporation has teamed up with the health technology company Proximie to offer its healthcare customers a state-of-the-art digital health platform. This partnership aims to digitize operating rooms worldwide.
Proximie’s cloud-based solution enables physicians to share high-quality, live clinical video, audio, and imagery from the operating room (OR) with colleagues and vendor partners, regardless of their location.
This technology is designed to assist hospitals in developing and spreading clinical and operational best practices. It does so by increasing teaching and training opportunities, allowing more people to learn from procedures.
The collaboration with Proximie will further Olympus’ goal of improving patient outcomes and clinical practices. It seeks to connect physicians, surgeons, clinicians, and students, transcending geographical boundaries.
“We’re thrilled to join forces with Proximie to provide our customers with a top-tier digital health platform,” announced Engin Demirel, Global Head of Commercialization for Endoscopy Solutions Ecosystem (ESE) and EMEA Head of ESE at Olympus Corporation. “This partnership will help break down learning barriers and provide healthcare professionals with access to the knowledge needed to enhance patient care and outcomes.”
Telecollaboration is a key component of Olympus’ medical solutions portfolio, and is a necessity for many healthcare providers and teaching institutions.
The features of Proximie’s system include:
- Software accessible from any browser or mobile device.
- The ability to see up to four high-definition, low-latency video feeds of a procedure simultaneously.
- Collaboration tools such as annotation, chat, and screen sharing capabilities.
- Tablet control and the capacity to connect multiple video signals for quick installation in any clinical space.
- Moderation features with comprehensive controls and privacy measures.
- Content management tools allowing users to transform individual expertise into shareable video content.
Proximie’s offerings can function either on a standalone tower or integrate seamlessly with other solutions. The terms of the partnership will vary depending on the region.
Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram, Proximie’s founder and CEO, stated, “We are delighted to formalize our global partnership with the Olympus Corporation. It demonstrates our commitment to widening access to surgical and procedural knowledge, improving global healthcare equity.
