OnTerra Systems, a provider of web mapping technologies, has announced the appointment of Erik Lindeman as its Director of Product Management & Professional Services.
Lindeman, who brings over two decades of experience from Microsoft, will oversee product management for OnTerra Systems’ offerings, including RouteSavvy route planning software and route optimization APIs. He will also lead customer consulting and solution development services.
Lindeman’s extensive experience at Microsoft included roles in technical product management, enterprise customer engagement, and developer advocacy. Most recently, he served as Principal Technical Program Manager for Azure Maps and Bing Maps for Enterprise, where he managed location-based services such as search, geocoding, routing, and weather. During his tenure, Lindeman launched several Microsoft Azure Maps services and played a key role in developing industry-specific data compliance, including HIPAA compliance for the healthcare sector.
His experience also includes overseeing the unification of Microsoft’s enterprise map and geospatial product offerings under Azure Maps. He spearheaded the creation of technical documentation, product support resources, and best practices to help customers transition from Bing Maps for Enterprise to Azure Maps. This expertise makes him particularly valuable to OnTerra Systems’ customers needing to migrate away from Bing Maps for Enterprise before its retirement by Microsoft.
With experience in customer operations, technical sales, project management, and engineering, Lindeman has a deep understanding of customer needs and a growth mindset, which helps companies across various industries find solutions through advanced technologies. His expertise spans various markets, including logistics, automotive, retail, e-commerce, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, and real estate.
“Given his extensive experience with the Microsoft geospatial eco-system, Erik Lindeman is uniquely poised to provide needed consulting & guidance to OnTerra Systems customers,” said Steve Milroy, CEO of OnTerra Systems. “Businesses & non-profits that need help migrating off Bing Maps for Enterprise, which is being retired by Microsoft, will particularly find his expertise useful – as well as organizations that need general help with web mapping & geospatial solutions.”
Lindeman holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Sonoma State University.
