Innovative Partnership Addresses Healthcare Workforce Needs
Parkview Health and Trine University have joined forces to create the Parkview Academy of Surgical Technology, a groundbreaking program designed to support students pursuing careers in surgical technology. This initiative, launching in fall 2025, will provide up to 10 full-time students with comprehensive support, including paid apprenticeships, tuition coverage, and benefits.
The program addresses a critical need in healthcare education by integrating academic learning with practical work experience. “By combining surgical technology training with student employment and additional financial support, we’re eliminating the difficult choice between financing education and gaining career preparation,” explained Jennifer Lloyd, director of Trine University’s surgical technology program. “Classroom concepts will be reinforced through daily work experiences, creating a robust learning environment.”
Key program benefits include:
- Paid apprenticeships as Parkview Health employees
- Full tuition coverage for Trine University’s Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology
- Eligibility for Parkview Health employee benefits
- Guaranteed job placement as surgical technologists at Parkview Health upon graduation
This strategic partnership between Parkview Health and Trine University demonstrates a commitment to developing healthcare talent while providing students with a clear pathway to employment. For more information about the program, visit Parkview Health’s website.
