Philips, a global leader in health technology, is expanding its cloud-based radiology informatics solutions to Europe. This move follows the successful migration of over 150 sites in North and Latin America to HealthSuite Imaging on Amazon Web Services (AWS). In addition, Philips is actively exploring the use of generative AI to further enhance its radiology reporting capabilities.

HealthSuite Imaging on AWS to Enhance Efficiency, Collaboration, and Patient Care

Philips HealthSuite Imaging is designed as a comprehensive, cloud-native solution specifically for radiology departments. As a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering, HealthSuite Imaging offers:

    • Enhanced Security: The system incorporates regular security patches, upgrades, and compliance checks to ensure robust data protection and adherence to regulatory requirements.
    • Improved Accessibility: Clinicians are given the ability to securely access imaging studies, AI-enabled workflows, and reporting tools from any location with an internet connection.
    • Increased Efficiency: The solution is designed to streamline workflows for scheduling, diagnosis, and reporting, reducing administrative burdens and boosting productivity.
    • Scalability and Flexibility: HealthSuite Imaging is designed to adapt to the evolving needs of healthcare organizations, providing support for both growth and innovation.

Exploring Generative AI to Enhance Radiology Solutions

Philips is actively investigating the use of generative AI to further improve its radiology solutions. The company’s current focus areas include:

    • Conversational reporting: Development of AI-powered tools to automate report generation and reduce the administrative burden on radiologists.
    • Clinical decision support: Leveraging AI to provide clinicians with insights and recommendations that support diagnosis and treatment planning.

“The availability of Philips’ cloud-based radiology solutions in Europe will be a game changer for healthcare providers, helping them to manage staff shortages, optimize workflows, and drive better outcomes,” said Shez Partovi, Business Leader Enterprise Informatics at Philips. “The scalability and security of enterprise imaging in the cloud will enable radiology departments to benefit from the transformative power of generative AI and allow clinicians to focus on the most important aspect, bringing better care to more people.”
