Startup India: A Model for the World, Says Piyush Goyal
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has lauded the growth of India’s startup ecosystem, highlighting the country’s innovative approach to economic development. Speaking at the valedictory function of the Vejalpur Startup Festival 2.0, Goyal revealed that numerous nations are expressing interest in adopting the Indian model, particularly the Startup India initiative.
Several nations want to adopt India’s development model, which has given prominence to initiatives such as Startup India that encourage innovation,” he stated.
Goyal emphasized the transformative impact of the startup environment, stating that it is encouraging job seekers to become job creators. He also set an ambitious target for the future, aiming to increase the number of unicorns (startups valued at over $1 billion) from the current 118 to 1,000 and then to 5,000. He acknowledged the contributions of Narendra Modi during his tenure as chief.
The minister’s remarks underscore the Indian government’s commitment to fostering a thriving entrepreneurial environment, encouraging innovation, and positioning the country as a leader in the global startup landscape.
