Pulse Technology’s Kyle Sallmen Recognized as ENX Magazine ‘Difference Maker’
Kyle Sallmen, Virtual Chief Information Officer (VCIO) at Pulse Technology, has been named to the prestigious ‘Difference Maker’ list by ENX Magazine, a national trade journal. This annual recognition program honors individuals making significant impacts in the IT industry.

The ‘Difference Maker’ list is compiled through peer and industry recommendations, showcasing the most influential professionals in the field. Sallmen’s inclusion in this list highlights his dedication to delivering exceptional IT services to Pulse Technology’s clients across Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
As VCIO, Sallmen serves as the primary liaison between Pulse’s IT team and its clients, ensuring seamless infrastructure operations and client satisfaction. His background in IT, including experience as a help desk technician, IT project manager, and IT director, brings a unique technical perspective to his role. ‘My job is to be that client liaison, to ensure that our team delivers the results our clients need to be completely satisfied,’ Sallmen explained.
Sallmen’s responsibilities include conducting client reviews, managing projects, and collaborating closely with Pulse’s IT technicians. He transitioned from internal IT operations to the Managed Service Provider (MSP) world, shifting from hands-on technical work to a more strategic, consultative role. ‘I left internal operations to come into the MSP world. I transitioned out of being ‘the guy who uses the screwdriver to fix things’ to become a technical advocate,’ he said.
Erik Cagle, ENX editorial director, praised the ‘Difference Maker’ program, stating, ‘The Difference Maker program is something of a unicorn in the industry, bringing together the best of the best from the dealer, manufacturer, distributor/supplier and software communities, along with other representatives who contribute to the industry.’ He credited the program’s success to reader participation in identifying high-impact individuals.
Vince Miceli, Vice President of Technology Development at Pulse, commended Sallmen’s work, saying, ‘Managed Services (IT) is a critical part of the Pulse offerings, and having someone with a strong background in IT to serve as the frontline advocate for the clients we serve is very important to us. Kyle makes a big difference in how smoothly and efficiently our department operates.’
