Seahawks Host Tech Touchdown Event Presented By AWS
The Seattle Seahawks, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), hosted the Tech Touchdown event on May 31, 2025. This initiative aimed to empower middle school girls through a combination of hands-on technology, football activities, and mentorship programs. The event featured a panel discussion focusing on women breaking barriers in male-dominated industries.

The panel included notable figures such as Shelby Williams, Head of Integrated Sports Marketing at AWS; Sandra Smith, Security Industry Specialist at AWS; Karen Wilkins-Mickey, Vice President of DEI for the Seahawks; and Becca Erenbaum, Senior Football Research Analyst for the Seahawks. These industry leaders shared their experiences and insights, providing valuable guidance to the participants.
During the event, attendees participated in various interactive stations. One of the highlights was the “My Cause My Cleats” AI cleat designer, where students utilized AWS technology to design custom cleats. Other activities included a quarterback passing demo, where participants tested their quarterback skills and used technology to measure their throwing data, and a Seahawks hologram station where they could stand next to a hologram of Seahawks Legend Ben Obomanu.

The event concluded with a football clinic, providing the participants with a comprehensive experience that combined technology, sports, and personal development. The Tech Touchdown event is a testament to the Seahawks’ commitment to empowering young girls and promoting diversity in STEM fields and sports.
