Seeing Machines Names John Noble CTO to Drive Technology Strategy
CANBERRA, Australia – Seeing Machines Limited (AIM: SEE), a company focused on computer vision technology that develops AI-powered operator monitoring systems to enhance transport safety, has announced the appointment of John Noble as its Chief Technology Officer. The appointment is effective immediately.
In his new role, Noble will lead Seeing Machines’ technology strategy, innovation efforts, and product development. This is intended to position the company to capitalize on the accelerating regulatory demand for driver monitoring systems (DMS) in Europe, where more original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and transport operators are required to improve safety through DMS implementation.
Noble has held several engineering positions at Seeing Machines over the past two decades, and is considered an expert in systems engineering, research and development, engineering management, computer vision, and embedded systems. He also chairs the company’s IP Committee. His past experience includes extensive customer-facing roles across Seeing Machines’ divisions. This background is expected to provide valuable perspectives as the company works to capitalize on the global adoption of DMS driven by stricter transport safety regulations.
As part of a wider business strategy overhaul, Dr. Mike Lenné, a recognized expert in human factors and safety, has been appointed as Seeing Machines’ Chief Safety Officer. Dr. Lenné will leverage nearly 30 years of experience to expand Seeing Machines’ partnerships with clients, research and technology partners, regulators, and safety organizations. These partnerships are designed to drive revenue growth and improve safety in the transportation industry.
Paul McGlone, CEO, commented on the changes, stating, “John brings a deep technical expertise to his new role which aligns perfectly with our goal to shape the future of transport and get more people home safely. Having worked for decades in the field of engineering management, he is uniquely well equipped to improve the way we design, develop and deliver our technology. Alongside Mike’s appointment as Chief Safety Officer, our business has the leadership in place to focus on successful delivery and on our core mission of improving global safety outcomes.”
John Noble, CTO, added, “We have an incredible pool of talent at Seeing Machines, and I’m delighted by the opportunity to lead our technical team. We will empower our experts, and therefore our customers, by refining our proven engineering processes to reflect the growing role of AI and synthetic data in our products, and to better support rapid and iterative delivery. I look forward to defending our reputation for quality, and ensuring we are viewed as an open and collaborative partner.”
Seeing Machines has secured 18 automotive programs with 11 OEMs, totaling an anticipated initial lifetime revenue of $392 million, with most of that revenue expected to be realized by 2028. The company currently has over 2.88 million vehicles in production across eight programs with brands like General Motors, Ford, Mercedes Benz, and BMW. Seeing Machines’ Aftermarket Guardian technology is in use in over 1,100 global transport and logistics fleets, having tracked over 19 billion kilometers and reducing risky driving behaviors related to fatigue and distraction.
In the aviation industry, Seeing Machines’ collaboration with Collins Aerospace, valued at $10 million, is advancing, and its launch product is expected to position the company as a leader in this growing market.
