    Simplyai Launches AI Innovation Hub

Sydney, February 25, 2025 – Automation and artificial intelligence consultancy Simplyai has launched a new AI innovation hub, Simplyai Catalyst, designed to leverage the capabilities of Microsoft’s advanced technologies. John Valastro, who joined Simplyai in 2023 and previously served as CEO, will now lead Simplyai Catalyst as its Managing Partner. Tim Barnes, an AI strategy and transformation expert, has also been recruited from ANZ bank to provide further leadership support.

Simplyai cited the projected $4 trillion in global value expected to be generated through enterprise AI by 2026 as a key driver for the creation of the innovation hub. Simplyai Catalyst will focus on co-creating tailored solutions on Microsoft platforms such as CoreAI, CoPilot, and Power Apps. It will also offer industry-specific AI accelerators for sectors including financial services, government, retail, and telecommunications. The firm plans to roll out additional solutions and strategic partnerships in the coming months.

“Simplyai Catalyst marks a defining moment in our commitment to pioneering AI-driven business solutions,” said Jason Catania, Simplyai’s Managing Director. “With John and Tim’s leadership and our strategic alignment with Microsoft, Simplyai Catalyst is uniquely positioned to help enterprises unlock AI’s full potential and thrive in an increasingly digital and automated world.”

Valastro’s role involves leading the integration of Microsoft’s AI ecosystem with Simplyai’s sector-specific expertise, while Barnes brings experience from his recent position as AI enablement lead at ANZ. Barnes has also held senior roles at Telstra, Optus, and AAPT. James Scott, former KPMG partner and Accenture managing director, serves as Simplyai’s executive chairman, in addition to his role as chair of portfolio sister company Seisma.

Headquartered in Sydney, Simplyai has additional locations in Melbourne and Perth. The firm employs approximately 100 consultants and technicians, generating revenues exceeding $30 million.
