Stacie Pace, MHA, has been appointed as the George Kaiser Family Foundation Endowed Chair of Health Technology Development. Pace’s work focuses on improving healthcare access and outcomes in rural and underserved communities in Oklahoma. She has dedicated almost ten years to this critical work.
This appointment was announced on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Pace works closely with the OSU Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS) and the Center for Health Systems Innovation (CHSI). CHSI, a collaborative venture between the OSU Spears School of Business and OSU-CHS, aims to transform healthcare systems through innovation and partnerships. As the director of Health Technology Development, Pace leads initiatives to design, test, and implement advanced technologies that improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes, especially in rural communities.
In addition to her research and development work, Pace mentors OSU-CHS students, engages with stakeholders, and secures funding for health technology research. “Tulsa is deeply interconnected with Oklahoma’s rural areas, both economically and socially. Addressing their health disparities can have a significant ripple effect on urban health outcomes,” Pace explained. “By improving access to care, advancing health technologies and addressing systemic challenges in Oklahoma’s health, we not only strengthen those communities, but also create a healthier, more integrated health care system that benefits Tulsa and the entire state.”
The George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) committed several years ago to support endowed chair positions at OSU. Monica Basu, Senior Program Officer at GKFF, stated, “The George Kaiser Family Foundation supports the ongoing efforts at OSU-CHS to address health care challenges and improve health outcomes in Oklahoma. Stacie Pace was chosen to fill this endowed chair position because of her years of experience and her ability to collaborate with leaders from the medical and technology fields in order to advance the health care industry as well as the health of patients.”
Pace expressed her gratitude and recognized the importance of the appointment. “This endowed position provides the resources and platform to focus on impactful initiatives, particularly in areas of health, technology and community-based solutions,” she said. “It also represents a commitment to upholding the mission of advancing the health care workforce and improving access to health care, which aligns closely with my professional goals and personal values.”
