Statement by President-elect Donald J. Trump Announcing the Appointment of David O. Sacks as ‘White House A.I. & Crypto Czar’

I am pleased to announce that David O. Sacks will be the ‘White House A.I. & Crypto Czar.’ In this important role, David will guide policy for the Administration in Artificial Intelligence and Cryptocurrency – two areas critical to the future of American competitiveness. His primary focus will be on making America the clear global leader in both areas.
Sacks will work to safeguard Free Speech online and steer us away from Big Tech bias and censorship. He will also develop a legal framework to provide the clarity the Crypto industry has been seeking, enabling it to thrive in the U.S. Additionally, David will lead the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology.
David Sacks has been an extremely successful entrepreneur and investor for 25 years, building and investing in some of Silicon Valley’s most iconic companies. He served as PayPal’s COO during its founding era and was part of the legendary ‘PayPal Mafia.’ Sacks later founded Yammer, an enterprise software company acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 billion. He subsequently founded Craft Ventures, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm.
Sacks is also the co-host of the All-In Podcast, the top podcast in Tech, where he and his friends discuss economic, political, and social issues. With his knowledge, business experience, intelligence, and pragmatism, David is well-equipped to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT in these two critical technologies.
